Klangbrücke “Musik aus 1002. Nacht”

Dear Friends,

This year we are performing again for the Klangbrücke music festival in Langenzersdorf, near Vienna on October 8 at 19.30. Last year's theme was "Music from 1001 Nights", this year it will be "Music from 1002 Nights" with classical music by Rimsky-Korsakov and other arrangements. Once again we will tell a story and I will dance to the music of Nariman Hodjati.

Classical Persian Dance Semester Class

From September 17th 2022, come every Saturday from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm and discover the beautiful art of Classical Persian dance. We will study basic patterns and combinations of hands and feet, we will work on improvisation and musicality by analysing traditional “reng” (dance pieces), and by exploring the musical modes of Persian music. During the course we will also learn a choreography with the possibility of performing it.

The course is open to all levels.

Persian Dance Class - Vienna

Classical Persian dance is a soft, romantic, and flowing form of dance which originated in Iran. Inspired by poetry, paintings, illuminations, and architecture, this art form enhances posture, elegance, coordination, and improves the flexibility of the upper body.

Hands and arms are the most important parts of the body in this dance and, together with facial expressions, they are used to tell stories and to translate Persian poetry into movement.

In this course we will explore the basics of Classical Persian Dance.
